RAD LAB
Horror Jam 123 Submission
Rad Lab: Text
From the Itch.io page:

"My submission for the jam. This was my first solo jam and I'm excited that I was able to get it to its current state in such a short amount of time. I would have liked to expand more on the game and add enemies and more levels. I started knowing that I wanted to implement two mechanics in particular, so that was the focus of this game."

I was the sole developer and designer for this 4 day game jam. I started coming up with the initial concept first and building a soft prototype to see if I found the idea both fun and doable in the short amount of time that I had. Once I had something that I was happy with, I moved on to working on the lighting and implementing the black and white filter with certain objects standing out in color.
With that being done, I had the core features implemented and began working on a level. I started sketching out a level on pen and paper. Once I had something that I liked, I began implementing the design in Unreal Engine.

With the level layout complete, I began filling the world with obstacles for the player to avoid and filling the world clutter and paper to make it feel real. I also added in health packs for the player to pick up if they took on too much radiation and keycards for the win condition.

Once the core game was finished, I went on to polishing. I fixed bugs that I had logged throughout development and added various UI elements, including the main menu.
